The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a revised academic calendar for the 2023-24 session. According to the academic calendar announced by the technical and professional education regulator, the last date up to which first-year students can take admissions against vacant seats at the technical institutions has been extended to October 30.

The AICTE has also announced the last date for lateral entry admission to second-year courses for newly admitted students. It is October 30.

The last date for the grant of affiliation by a university or board for technical institutes is October 30.

However, for institutions with online and ODL programmes, the last date for grant of approval, admission to courses in them for the first and second session will be as per UGC.

The revised calendar has been uploaded in the AICTE’s official website — aicte-india.org.

“In compliance of the Supreme Court order dated 13.10.2023, AICTE has revised the academic calendar for the year 2023-24 and the same has been notified on the council website – aicte-india.org. Accordingly, the last date for admissions in all AICTE-approved institutions and affiliation with universities is extended up to 30th October 2023,” the AICTE said.

The deadline for admitting first-year students to institutes was earlier set on September 15, while the last date for grant of affiliation was July 31. The revised academic calendar will not be applicable for standalone PGDM and PGCM institutions.
