Two arrested as cops look for 2 others in case of abduction and rape of sisters

According to the police, the incident took place around 25 days ago when the four youths in a car kidnapped the sisters — above 18 years of age — while they were returning home.

The accused then took them to a small room in the middle of an agricultural field in a remote village. One of the accused drugged the women and later, the four took turns to rape the women.

The survivors were later dropped off in the village by the four abductors in the same car.

The police registered a case after a video, shot by an accused, in which the sisters were being drugged recently went viral on social media.

After identifying the survivors, the police registered an FIR on December 5 and booked the four accused under the charges of kidnapping, raping and posting the crime video on social media.

“The sisters live with their grandmother as their parents died a few years ago. We have taken active steps after coming across the video. We are also taking care of the safety of the sisters,” Bharuch Deputy Superintendent of Police P L Chaudhary said.

The two arrested work as cab drivers who are hired by tours and travel operators in Bharuch. “Malek has a criminal history and was arrested in an attempted murder case in Bharuch. He was also arrested and sent to jail under the Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act,” Chaudhary added.
