The election to the nine-member committee of RWITC at the Annual General Meeting saw a good turnout of voters. A total of 1,111 votes were cast out of which Vivek Jain bagged 908 votes to continue as the chairman of the club. The voting was open from 11 am – 8 pm. A thrilled Jain said. “I got 908 votes. It’s very satisfying. It shows that members appreciate hard work and that politics cannot come in the way.” Now, Jain’s immediate plan is to work on the reduction of taxes.
The other members elected to the committee are Jaydev Mody (771 votes),Champaklal Zaveri (742 votes),Shyam Ruia (669 votes),Dr Ram Shroff (648 votes),Dr S C Jain (633 votes),Shivlal R Daga (581 votes),Khushroo Dhunjibhoy (578 votes),Geoffrey Nagpal (561 votes).
The contesting candidates who did not make it to the committee are Ashwin Mehta,Gautam Lala and D S Oza.
