Traffic changes in place as Mahayuti candidates to hold rallies for nomination filing

Officials said that Mohol and Adhalrao Patil were both expected to file their nominations and the corresponding rallies are expected to see participation from many heavyweight leaders including the chief minister and both deputy chief ministers.

WITH Mahayuti candidates for Pune and Shirur, Murlidhar Mohol and Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil expected to file their nomination papers and hold rallies in Pune on Thursday, traffic changes will be in place in the city, the city traffic police said. Police have said that adequate force deployment will also be made for the conduct of the rallies and crowd control.

Officials said that Mohol and Adhalrao Patil were both expected to file their nominations and the corresponding rallies are expected to see participation from many heavyweight leaders including the chief minister and both deputy chief ministers. The traffic changes for Thursday were notified by DCP Traffic Rohidas Pawar on Wednesday.

With rallies expected to take place from Chhatrapati Shivaji statue in Karve Nagar to Chhatrapati Sambhaji statue in Deccan area, the following traffic changes will be in place between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm, the changes will be implemented as and when required in and around this time window, officials said.

Traffic between Nal Stop and Knadojibaba Chowk will be closed as required. The alternate routes for this closure will be: via Mhatre Bridge and Senadatta Chowky and also via Paud Phata, Athawale Chowk and Law College Road.

Traffic will be closed between Khandojibaba Chowk and Tilak Chowk as required. The alternate routes for this closure will be: Via SG Barve Chowk, Simla Office, Ganesh Khind Road, Senapati Bapat Road and Nal Stop. Via SG Barve Chowk, Shivaji Road, Gadgil Statue and Jedhe Chowk. Via Tilak Chowk, VR Shinde Bridge and PMC.
