Speaker of the state legislative assembly Dilip Walse-Patil on Monday called for an upgrade of the cooperative banking sector enabling the banks to compete in the present scenario.
He was speaking at the staff training camp organised by the Pune District Central Cooperative Bank (PDCC). Also present on the occasion were director Rajendra Deshmukh,vice-president Sanjay Kale and others.
In spite of recession,India is doing satisfactory on economic growth. The turn over in co-operative banks is also showing upward swing. But as far as the services are concerned,they are still not up to the mark. Hence,it is imperative to study the changing economy, he said.
He sought proper Strengths,Weakness,Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis of the banks to help them perform better.
