The unseeded Jayant Sajagure of Deccan Gymkhana pulled off a great upset by defeating his top seeded teammate Sachin Sancheti in the pre quarterfinals of the Pinnacle Ranking Snooker tournament being held at the Deccan Gymkhana tables on Saturday.
Jayant Sajagure defeated his opponent in three straight frames. Jayant had control of the game right from the opening frame and played excellent safety shots. Sachin,on the other hand,seemed under pressure and could not convert opportunities given to him. Jayant easily finished off the last frame on the pink ball.
In another match Jaydeep Khandekar easily got the better of Samir Sheikh in three straight 3 frames. Sagar Shelar of Deccan,however,went down 2/3 to Vinay Jagtap of PYC,in a marathon encounter that lasted 3 ½ hours .
Bipin Sankpal of PYC had a comfortable 3/0 win over Rahul Padhye..
The Quarter-final tomorrow will witness players like Jayant Sajagure,Jaideep Khandekar of Deccan Gymkhan , Bipin Sankpal of PYC,Aditya Deshpande,Felix Francis of PGI and Swapneet Singh of Poona Club in action.
