While Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar was delivering a speech at a Lok Sabha election campaign rally at Satana in Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Thursday, a banner on the stage came crashing.
Even as the banner fell on the stage, Sharad Pawar continued his speech. Party workers present at the rally immediately put back the banner, said NCP (SP) spokesperson Mahesh Tapase.
”The banner fell due to gusty winds. It fell on the stage where our party chief Sharad Pawar was delivering his speech. He continued for a while and then wound up the speech,” Tapase said.
Pawar was in the Dindori constituency to campaign for Bhaskar Bhagare who will take on Union Minister Bharati Pawar. The polling is scheduled on May 20.
Dindori, an Scheduled Tribe reserved seat, is among the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies of Maharashtra. It has six Assembly constituencies of Chandwad, Nandgaon, Kalwan, Niphad, Dindori, and Yevla.
