Stunning displays including those of swarm drones, Special Forces equipment and an immersive photo exhibition will be some of the attractions of the ‘Know Your Army Mela 2025’ which will be held in Pune in the run up to the Army Day Parade 2025 between January 3 to 5.
The Indian Army has announced the “Know Your Army Mela 2025”, a three-day event aimed at showcasing the strength, technological advancements and indigenous capabilities of the Armed Forces. The Pune-headquartered Southern Command is conducting the fair as a build up to Army Day Parade 2025, which the city is hosting on January 15, 2025.
The event will be held at Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) from January 3 to 5 between 9 am to 5 am daily. The event is set to showcase the Indian Army’s commitment to fostering stronger connections with citizens while celebrating its transformative journey.
The exhibition and display will feature Infantry and Special Forces equipment, such as K-9 Vajra, 155 MM Bofors, Pinaka and Smerch. The T-90 and BMP-II tanks by mechanised forces. Air Defence systems, including L-7-, ZU-23, Akash and the upgraded Schilka. Swarm drones and other newly inducted vehicles, demonstrating advancements in protection and mobility.
A dedicated section showcasing 25 vendors contributing to Atmnirbhar Bharat, highlighting indigenous equipment production. An immersive photo exhibition displaying the capabilities of the Indian Army.
The event that will take place at RWITC will have entry via the Prince of Wales Road, Arjun Road and Exhibition Road and NH-65 along the AFMC Parade Ground. Entry points for the event will include the mail parade ground entrance, a makeshift entrance near the Botanical garden and the Maharashtra State Electricity Board entrance from Solapur Highway.
Comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure convenient access and smooth parking for visitors. Parking arrangements have been made at Pune Race Course near the Parade Ground entrance for school and college buses, Maharashtra State Electricity Board Parking lot via NH-65, additional parking facilities at Command Riding School, Army Public School Junior Wing, Express Botanical Garden lot on Prince of Wales Road, Cricket Ground on Burnett Road and the RWITC parking facility.
To ensure a seamless experience, the defence authorities have issued certain guidelines for attendees. The visitors are advised to arrive between 8.30 am and 9.15 am for the morning session and by 2 pm for the afternoon session to avoid traffic congestion. Handbags are permitted but no other bags should be carried.
Entry will be permitted only with a valid government-issued ID. No pets or inflammable items will be allowed. Children below 10 years must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian. Refreshments stalls will be available at the venue for the public convenience.
