A day after parts of the city witnessed a flood-like situation, affected residents were toiled hard to clean their houses and commercial spaces through the day. However, they also expressed outrage over the poor management of the situation by government agencies due to which they suffered a loss of property.
The most affected area of the city was Ekta Nagari on Sinhagad road where water gushed in during the wee hours from Mutha river and rose to a height of around ten feet. The situation created a frenzy as residents had to run to safety the administration failed to inform them on time, and they were in deep sleep when the flooding began.
The civic administration also helped clean up properties with jetting machines and provided drinking water through tankers and a mobile medical clinic for affected residents.
