The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro), which is implementing the Pune Metro project, has launched an investigation into the disruption of power supply which affected its service for 20 minutes on Monday.

“We have launched an investigation to find out the reason behind the disruption of power supply to the Metro services,” Shravan Hardikar, chairman and managing director of Maha-Metro told The Indian Express on Wednesday.

Hardikar said the disruption should not have happened and therefore, he has taken action against the entire traction team. “The disruption of power supply which affected the Metro services should not have happened. I have initiated action against the traction team… I have withheld the award which was supposed to be given to the entire traction and electrical team. We took power from MSETCL. After the failure of power supply, the switchover should have happened but it took time for the switchover or something might have tripped… I have asked the officials to find out exactly what happened.”
