Pune Police have geared up for the visit of the British royal couple,Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. Security checks have been carried out at the Kirkee cemetery,run by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission,Serum Institute of India and the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC),where they are slated to pay a visit.
The British royal couple is slated to visit Pune on Sunday. M B Tambade,deputy commissioner of police (Special Branch),said,We have carried out security checks at the places that they are going to visit. Teams from local police stations have been deployed as well at the three venues.
The couple will arrive at around 2 pm and is scheduled to leave for Mumbai by 7 pm. As per the protocol,the couple will get the security equal to that of the Vice-President of India,a police officer said.
Manoj Patil,deputy commissioner of police (Zone IV) said,A team from UK is expected to visit Pune for the security arrangements. We will be coordinating with them.
