A fire broke out in the storeroom of a private company in Pune following which an oxygen cylinder exploded early on Sunday, officials said. Though no casualties were reported in the incident, a truck parked in the compound was gutted in the blaze, they added.
A fire brigade team of Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) rushed to the spot after receiving information about the fire at the Kunjir Bioenergy company at Mirwadi in Daund taluka around 5 am.

“Our team extinguished the fire and brought the situation under control within two and a half hours. The cause of the fire could not be confirmed,” said Vijay Mahajan, PMRDA fire officer.
“The oxygen cylinder exploded due to the fire that also spread to the truck parked in the compound,” Mahajan added.
