A driver of a private vehicle,who was not allowed to park the car on the premises of a state transport bus stand,allegedly attempted to kill a bus conductor by pushing him in the way of a moving truck on Pune-Nashik highway in Junnar on Thursday.
The conductor,identified as Pavan Anna Bhor,a resident of Hivre in Narayangaon,suffered injuries as trucks rear hit him on head. He was admitted to a nearby hospital after the incident took place around 6 pm on Thursday.
Mahesh Dattatraya Vite (36),state transport traffic controller,lodged a complaint at Narayangaon police station. Police have booked the driver under the charges of attempt to murder and interfering in government work.
Police said the accused parked his vehicle on the premises of state transport bus stand at Narayangaon. A quarrel started as Bhor and Vite stopped him from parking his vehicle there. The driver created a scene by abusing Vite and Bhor and the duo decided to file a complaint against him. However,when they were going to the police station on a motorcycle,the accused allegedly followed them. Police said the accused forcibly sat on their motorcycle saying he also wanted to visit the police station.
When they took the bridge over Mina river on Pune-Nashik highway,the accused tried to imbalance the motorcycle. Bhor and Vite stopped the motorcycle following which the accused pushed Bhor on the path of the speeding truck and fled from the spot. Police have managed to get the registration number of the accuseds vehicle and has launched a search to nab him. Sub-inspector P D Gaikwad is investigating the case.
