Man opens fire at cousin following land dispute

Police said there had been a dispute over a piece of land between the accused Sachin and his family member Datta Dhore. They gathered at Wadebolai area on Thursday night to settle the dispute.

A man opened fire at his cousin following a land dispute at Wadebolai in Kesnand on Thursday night.

Police identified the injured person as Sushil Sambhaji Dhore (42) of Dhore Vasti in Kesnand.

A first information report (FIR) was lodged in this case at Lonikand police station against three persons, including Sachin Rajaram Dhore, Ganesh Chandrakant Jadhav and Bhivraj Suresh Hargude, all residents of Kesnand area.

Police have booked the accused persons on charges of attempt to murder.

Police said there had been a dispute over a piece of land between the accused Sachin and his family member Datta Dhore. They gathered at Wadebolai area on Thursday night to settle the dispute.

But arguments took place between Sachin and Datta. When Sushil intervened, Sachin allegedly got angry and fired a bullet at him from his country-made pistol, the police said.

After receiving information, a police team led by senior police inspector Sarjerao Kumbhar reached the spot for investigation. Police arrested the accused Sachin and his aide Bhivraj, and a search was launched for their accomplice Ganesh.
