Light rain to continue,say Met officials

No rainfall was recorded at the two observatories of the India Meteorological Department,Pune,on Sunday,officials said. According to officials,the minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 22.7° Celsius while the maximum recorded in the evening was 28° Celsius.

No rainfall was recorded at the two observatories of the India Meteorological Department (IMD),Pune,on Sunday,officials said. According to officials,the minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 22.7° Celsius while the maximum recorded in the evening was 28° Celsius.

IMD officials forecast intermittent to light rain in the next 24 to 48 hours. “Not only are the south-west moonsoon winds weak,but cloud formation is also not strong,which is affecting the rainfall. The situation is similar in most of western Maharashtra. However,Konkan and Goa are witnessing normall rainfall,” an IMD official said.

IMD officials said the sky would remain overcast in the next 48 hours and the maximum temperature will also witness a drop. The IMD forecast for the next 24 hours said the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 27° Celsius and 23° Celsius respectively. In the next 48 hours,city will witness light rain; there will be no change in minimum and maximum temperatures.
