A public lecture series titled ‘Call to Happiness’ based on the Bhagavad Gita,  will be held in the city from October 3 to 7.

“True happiness is permanent, an eternal state of bliss which does not depend on the external world of objects and beings because you find it within you,” said Sunanda Leelaram, who will deliver the lectures. “In this lecture series we will explain true happiness as written in the Bhagavad Gita. Money, fame, love, position, status, recognition, and so on can make one happy but only temporarily. The search for true happiness ends within,” Leelaram, a daughter-disciple of Swami Parthasarthy, added.

The event, organised by Vedanta Academy of which Leelaram is a trustee, will be held 6.45 pm onwards at Symbiosis Institute of Design Auditorium in Viman Nagar. The Vedanta Academy, founded in 1988, has been working for the study, research and dissemination of Vedanta Philosophy.

Stating that the event is open to people of all religions and backgrounds, Leelaram explained, “Any religion has two aspects: the religious practices which includes rituals, festivals, place of worship and so on. The other aspect is philosophy which deals with the question of being a good human, dignity of human life and the meaning of happiness. This can help anyone regardless of whether one follows religious practices or not.”
