Chatushrungi police on Friday registered a cognizable offence against Congress MLA Vinayak Nimhan,his corporator son Sunny and three others in connection with a dispute over various portions of land in Baner area. Vinay Kunjir of Sangvi lodged a complaint in the case.
Earlier,a similar case was registered against Nimhan and his son on the complaint lodged by retired defence services officer Arun Deshmukh.
Subhash Nikam,inspector (crime),said,A case has been registered against Vinayak Nimhan,his son Sunny,their driver and two others. We will be recording statements of the aggrieved parties. The suspects had threatened and attacked complainants over a dispute related to land.
The offence has been registered under Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt),447 (criminal trespass),341 (wrongful restraint) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. No one has been arrested yet.
After verification of the charges we will arrest the suspects, said Nikam.
