June 15-17 is the expected date with monsoon in city

The city is expected to see the onset of monsoon only between June 15-17 although pre-monsoon showers are likely.

The city is expected to see the onset of monsoon only between June 15-17 although pre-monsoon showers are likely. “Even as there is advancement of the South West monsoon in some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra,monsoon is expected reach the city only after June 15,’’ said Sunita Devi,director IMD weather central,Pune.

The normal date of onset in the city is June 8. Even as spells of pre-monsoon showers are expected,the date of onset has been delayed.

“Conditions are looking favourable for the next 48 hours,’’ she added.

Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra,interior Karnataka,most parts of Tamil Nadu and remaining parts of south Bay of

Bengal and some more parts of central and north Bay of Bengal.

In its forecast,the Met department stated that conditions are favourable for further advance into remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea,Konkan and Tamil Nadu and some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra,interior Karnataka and Bay of Bengal and some parts of Andhra Pradesh in the next 48 hours.
