The Pune city police today recorded statements of eight Mahar watandars in connection with the alleged fraudulent Mundhwa land deal, involving Amadea Enterprises LLP, a firm in which NCP president and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s son, Parth, is partner.
Pravina Borde, the sub-divisional officer for the Pune sub-division, had lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at Khadak police station on November 7. The FIR mentioned alleged irregularities involving two separate land parcels in Bopodi and Mundhwa.
Investigation of this case was transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Pune City Police.
EOW has recorded the primary statement of Sheetal Tejwani, who held the power of attorney for 272 watandars of Mahar watan land in Mundhwa for its sale to Amadea Enterprises LLP.
Police said that ten Mahar Watandars (those who held the land grant) were called today. Of them, statements of eight were recorded, for the purpose of investigation into this case.
The land parcel in Mundhwa which was earlier Mahar Watan land (a hereditary land grant) was in possession of the government and was leased to the Botanical Survey of India.
Meanwhile, the FIR named nine persons as accused, including suspended Tehsildar Suryakant Yewale, Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, the director of Amadea Enterprises LLP, Hemant Gawande (power of attorney holder on behalf of Vision Property), Rajendra Ramchandra Vidhwans, Rushikesh Madhav Vidhwans, Mangal Madhav Vidhwans — all three residents of Navi Peth in Pune —Vidyanand Avinash Puranik of Indore, Jayshree Sanjay Ekbote of Colaba in Mumbai, and Sheetal Tejwani.
All accused have been booked under sections 201, 316 (2), 316 (5), 318 (4), 336 (3), 336 (4), 338, 340 (2), 6 (2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The FIR stated that accused Gawande, Rajendra Vidhwans, Rushikesh Vidhwans, Mangal Vidhwans, Vidyanand Puranik and Jayashree Ekbote allegedly sought wrongful possession of the government owned land at Survey Number 62 in Bopodi, measuring five Hectares and 35 acres.
It is alleged that Yewale issued an order in favour of these accused by misusing his powers, between February 12, 2024, and July 1, 2025, while performing his duties as Tehsildar, Pune city, at the Mamledar Kacheri in Shukrawar Peth.
Tejwani and Parth Pawar’s partner Digvijay Patil have been booked in this case in connection with the alleged fraudulent purchase of about 40 acres in the prime Mundhwa-Koregaon Park area of Pune city, with a suspicious stamp duty waiver of Rs 5.89 crore.
The FIR mentions that Yewale had issued a letter illegally on June 9, 2025, to vacate this land in Mundhwa area. After major controversy erupted over this issue, Ajit Pawar stated that the agreement pertaining to this land deal stands cancelled.
Suspended Tehsildar Yewale has been named in connection to both the land deals for alleged wrongful orders in both cases, police said. A court granted interim anticipatory bail to Yewale on November 13.
Meanwhile, a separate FIR has been registered in connection to Mundhwa land parcel at Bavdhan police station under the Pimpri Chinchwad police against Patil, Tejwani and Ravindra Taru, the now-suspended sub-registrar who registered the deal in May earlier this year.
