Central midfielder Djidja Pierre Douhou Sey,25,in his comeback year at Pune FC,completed a huge turnaround claiming the Pune FC Player of The Year 2011-12 award.
His teammates nominated him for the Players Player Award. Douhou is the third foreign player and first midfielder to receive Pune FCs highest honour.
Douhou received a trophy and Rs 2.0 lakh. Earlier,Douhou figured in the squad in its maiden year of elite football in India. For Douhou the one important reason that swung the top-award his way was the contribution towards the teams performance that included maximum assists.
Douhou also got the Players Player Award, for which Rs 1 lakh and a trophy was presented to him. The Best Young Player award went to Manipur-born Singam Subash Singh.
