Days after toll booth vandalism, Raj Thackeray visits Pune

Pune police has booked Thackeray and many of his supporters for inciting and damaging property at the toll booths.

Days after violent protest by MNS workers against tax collection at toll booths in Pune, party chief Raj Thackeray is vising the district on Thursday. Thackeray will be on a three-day visit to Pune city to review the party work for upcoming elections.

Pune police has booked Thackeray and many of his supporters for inciting and damaging property at the toll booths. The activists had damaged the toll posts on Sunday night after the MNS chief had told them to not pay toll tax.

They had damaged the toll posts at Bavdhan near Chandi Chowk, Urse toll post on Mumbai-Pune highway while the office of Reliance company near Katraj tunnel was ransacked.

Thackeray has called a meeting of all the senior local MNS leaders and elected representatives to discuss planning for elections.
