Nationalist Congress Party national president and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s Jan Sanman Yatra reached Tumsar assembly constituency in Bhandara district on Saturday.
Flanked by the party’s working president Praful Patel, Ajit Pawar addressed a large gathering in the area and highlighted the development works done in the region.
“In the last 3 years we have allocated nearly Rs 3,000 crore for the development of this region. If you support us in the upcoming assembly elections, I will ensure Rs 5,000 crore over the next 5 years,” Pawar said.
He added that Rs 225 crore was provided for construction of roads under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana in the area along with setting up a 200-bed sub-district hospital in Tumsar and developing a sports complex.
Ajit Pawar reiterated that 44 lakh farmers will get zero electricity bills in the next 10 days before the model code of conduct is enforced. “We are offering Rs 20,000 per hectare compensation for paddy farmers, which will be increased if we are voted back to power,” added the Deputy CM.
“We are developing an ambitious water tourism project in the backwaters of the Gosikhurd dam, which will significantly boost Bhandara’s development, turning it into a tourist destination and creating jobs,” he said.
The NCP president said a reconciliation agreement of Rs 101 crore was signed for the first phase of the Gosikhurd project. He urged people to vote for NCP and Mahayuti candidates. He said, “if we win, we will allocate more funds for your development.”
Addressing the gathering, Praful Patel said, “If anyone can save the Constitution, it is Ajit Pawar.”
He asserted that NCP is a party for everyone and no other person has the capability to work for the people of this region. He told the people not to be misled by those who promote social division and disrupt harmony.
Talking about the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, Patel said around 2.25 crore women have already benefitted from the scheme. Talking about the Mahayuti government’s initiatives for farmers, he also said the goal is to achieve 100 per cent irrigation in this region.
