Yet another swine flu death has been reported prompting doctors to urge people showing H1N1 symptoms to opt for immediate treatment.

On Thursday,a 55-year-old man from Man taluka in Satara died of H1N1. He had been ailing since September 15 and had shown symptoms of the disease like cough, cold and high fever.

He had initially got treatment at Satara civil hospital. A delay in administering Tamiflu is the likely reason for his condition deteriorating. Most of the patients who succumbed to the virus since April this year in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad are from outside Pune and Pimpri areas and had come to seek treatment at hospitals in these areas. The deaths reported in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad have now gone up to 24 (16 from PMC area and 8 from PCMC area) since April this year.
