Shiv Sena chief spokesperson Deepak Kesarkar on Wednesday alleged that Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray did not take even a single decision for the development of Konkan region during his tenure as the chief minister.
Kesarkar’s remarks came a day after Uddhav vowed to reclaim his party’s lost ground in Konkan region.
“Uddhav Thackeray often speaks of his love for Konkan. But during his two-and-a-half years in office, there wasn’t a single pro-Konkan decision,” said Kesarkar said while addressing a press conference at Balasaheb Bhavan in Mumbai.
“Even the cashew board committee formed under the Maha Vikas Aghadi government—where I served as Minister of State for Finance and chaired the committee—never received policy approval. That speaks volumes about his real priorities.”said Kesarkar, who is a former minister.
On Tuesday, the Sena (UBT) chief said that his party will reclaim the lost ground in coastal Konkan region, where it suffered a major setback in last year’s Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.
“The poll results in Konkan were unexpected. I am going to conquer Konkan again. Now I will strengthen the party in Konkan again. I will tour the entire Konkan from top to bottom and will recapture the entire region. They (ruling alliance) made people fool once but they won’t be able to fool the people of Konkan all the time,” said Uddhav at a press conference in Mumbai.
