A teenager was killed and another injured after a tempo rammed into their bike on Sunday night. The Aarey sub police have arrested the driver of the tempo,Ishaq Mohammad Kasam (37),for causing death due to rash and negligent driving.
Senior Police Inspector Laxman Tonpe from the Aarey sub police station said,The boys,Vicky Jadhav (19) and Premjit Gaikwad (15),were on their way from Marol to Goregaon via the Aarey colony area when the incident took place. While they were trying to overtake the tempo in front of them,the driver suddenly veered the tempo knocking them down.
The duo was severely injured and was rushed to a local hospital. While Jadhav was declared dead on arrival,Gaikwad is undergoing treatment at the Bhagwati Hospital for his head injuries.
Kasam was later arrested and charged with causing death due to rash and negligent act and remanded to judicial custody, said Tonpe. Jadhav was a HSC student of Patkar College and Gaikwad studies in a Goregaon school.
