Three months after actor Shah Rukh Khan was allegedly involved in a brawl at Wankhede stadium with Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) members and police officers, the Maharashtra Commission for Protection of Child Rights has issued a notice to the Marine Drive police station and a complainant in the case.

Complainant and social activist Amit Maru had approached the commission through his lawyer Y P Singh, alleging Khan should be held guilty of seven cognisable offences. Maru had also sought an FIR against the actor.

The notice, sent on Wednesday by the commission to Maru and the Marine Drive police, has scheduled a hearing in the matter on August 16.

In his complaint,Maru alleged: “Shah Rukh Khan,an enormous celebrity, who the people of India, particularly children, emulate and follow, has harmed the future of our nation by corrupting minds of children by uttering filthy abuses in public.”

Following the complaint,the commission’s under-secretary,S S Supe,issued a notice to Maru and police officers.

“We have listed seven instances where Khan violated the law, including hurling abuses in public before children, misbehaving in a drunken state at a public place, indecent behaviour and unlawful assembly,” Maru said.
