Shivajirao Kardile Death: Maharashtra’s Rahuri MLA passes away, CM Devendra Fadnavis mourns ‘loss of farmer leader’

BJP leader Shivajirao Kardile has passed away at the age of 67. He was the sitting MLA from the Rahuri constituency in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra BJP MLA Shivajirao Kardile from the Rahuri constituency has passed away at the age of 67, confirmed state BJP President Ravindra Chavan.

Shivajirao Kardile was reportedly admitted to Sai Deep Sahyadri Hospital in Ahilyanagar due to breathing difficulties, where doctors later declared his death.

Chavan expressed his condolences, stating, “He had been active in the political and social spheres of Nagar district for many years. From being the Sarpanch of Burhanagar village to an MLA and a Minister of State, Shivajirao Kardile had a long and distinguished political journey. His demise is a loss of a dedicated leader who tirelessly worked for the service of the people.”


NCP leader and former Maharashtra minister Jitendra Awhad said: “Shri Shivajirao Kardile, the current MLA from Rahuri, has sadly passed awy. May his family find the strength to cope with this grief. We express our condolences to the Kardile family.”

Parali MLA and former Maharashtra minister Dhananjay Munde said: “The news of the untimely demise of Shivajirao Kardile, a knowledgeable leader in the political and social spheres of Ahmednagar district, former minister, and MLA of Rahuri constituency, is heartbreaking. I share the grief that has befallen the Kardile family.”

Rajya Sabha MP Bhagwat Karad said that Kardile was the voice of the people and that he was very popular in his constituency.

Kardile brought positive change: CM Fadnavis

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the news was extremely shocking. “The party has lost a leader who worked tirelessly with great dedication for the farmers. Whether it was the district bank or the milk union, he worked at every place for the farmers… He used to raise the issues of the constituency with great dedication, and through that, he succeeded in bringing positive changes in the lives of the people,” he said.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said: “He was a true public servant who worked tirelessly for the issues of the people. Due to his efforts, the development of Rahuri taluka received a new direction. Shivajirao’s untimely departure is a major shock to his family as well as all the workers. We share the grief of his family members.”
