Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar is a “seasoned leader” who will soon acknowledge Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat, according to Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Thursday.
Speaking at a media interaction in Nagpur, Bawankule said a leader of Pawar’s stature can play important role in the making of the 21st century India.
“Ajit Pawar along with 40-plus MLAs joined the BJP-led coalition in Maharashtra because they want to be part of the making of a new India. They believe PM Narendra Modi’s leadership will take India to greater heights… One day Sharad Pawar who is a tall leader with vast administrative and political experience will also acknowledge PM Modi’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat,” he said.
Adding that the differences within NCP will be short-lived, he said, “Jayant Patil says he and Ajit Pawar are both Pawarsaheb’s workers. What does it mean. It shows everybody holds Pawar senior in high reverence.”
Commenting on Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray who has pledged to fight and finish BJP, Bawankule said, “ Thackeray will be left with four or five leaders to share the dais by 2024.”
