Seven years after he jumped bail,Godmother’s son in city police net

According to Crime Branch sources,the accused — Karan Jadeja (39),was arrested in 2006 in Bandra with a pistol and four to five live cartridges. He was charged under the Arms Act and was subsequently granted bail,after which he allegedly disappeared.

Last week,the Crime Branch’s Dormant File squad,which deals with tracing and apprehending wanted accused in old cases,received information that Karan was hiding in Udyognagar in Gujarat.

Acting on the information,a police team was sent to Udyognagar. With the assistance of local police,Karan was taken into custody.

He was brought to Mumbai late on Sunday night,sources said.
