Rs 7,000-cr project to add more lanes to expressway, NH-4

The MSRDC will add two lanes to the existing six-lane expressway and four-lane old Mumbai-Pune highway.

With traffic on the 95-km Mumbai-Pune Expressway on the rise, the Maharashtra State Road Development Authority is planning a Rs 7,000-crore project of adding more lanes to the expressway and NH-4, the old Mumbai-Pune highway.

Eknath Shinde, Minister, Public Works Development (Public Undertakings), said between the expressway and the NH-4, commuters would have 14 lanes to travel between Mumbai and Pune from the current 6-10 lanes once the project was completed.
