Actor Raveena Tandon and her driver were gheraoed by a mob after the latter allegedly knocked down a woman inside the premises of a building in Khar’s Carter Road late Saturday. In a video that went viral on social media, one of the women can be seen complaining that Tandon and her driver assaulted her, causing her nose-bleeding.
According to police, the incident took place when Tandon’s driver was reversing the vehicle. An officer said that the driver was parking the car, when the woman and her family members alleged that the car knocked her down.
In the video, the woman’s son, who identified himself as Muhammed, said the incident happened when he was walking with his mother, sister, and niece near Tandon’s house.
“When we confronted him, the driver assaulted my niece and my mother. Raveena Tandon, herself, who was in an inebriated state, also stepped out and brutally assaulted (my mother and niece). We have been here at the Khar police station for four hours and nobody is lodging a complaint…,” said Muhammed in the video.
Later, both the parties reached Khar police station to register their complaints.
Deputy Commissioner of police Raj Tilak Roushan (zone IX) said, “The dispute started when Tandon’s driver was parking the vehicle… The matter has been resolved now. Both the parties have given us in writing that they do not want to lodge any complaint against each other.”
