Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said that no project should drag on for years and must be completed within three years of initiation, emphasising the importance of timely completion of infrastructure projects.

He was speaking at the third review meeting of the Chief Minister’s War Room, which reviewed the current status of 30 major infrastructure projects. This meeting follows two earlier sessions in which 33 projects were reviewed and around 135 action points were discussed. On Monday, the implementation updates on those decisions were also shared.

To enhance coordination and efficiency, the CM directed that project progress be updated only on the Chief Minister’s Dashboard, eliminating the need for separate dashboards. Departments must ensure all project-related updates and bottlenecks are transparently recorded and resolved ahead of the next review meeting. In case of persistent challenges, departments were asked to report directly to the War Room for swift resolution. The Chief Minister also said that if needed, related proposals should be brought before the Cabinet for approval to expedite project execution.

CM Fadnavis directed that housing projects should be established near the final stations of metro lines. He stressed the need to resolve obstacles to the completion of metro projects in Mumbai and across Maharashtra promptly and to build a skilled administrative mechanism to ensure timely delivery. He also instructed the immediate release of required funds for metro and other infrastructure works. It was also informed that flat allocation to residents of the BDD chawls in Worli will begin soon. Similarly, efforts are underway to hand over homes to residents in the Naigaon and N M Joshi Road chawls as per scheduled timelines.

The projects reviewed included Metro projects and several road projects that are being undertaken across the state.
