After YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani recorded his statement with Mumbai Police Tuesday in connection with the inquiry into podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial question on the show ‘India’s Got Latent’, content creator Apoorva Mukhija also reached Khar police station on Wednesday to record her statement.
The three were among the five artists summoned by Mumbai Police on Tuesday over the incident. The others are Samay Raina, who organised and hosted the show, and content creator Jaspreet Singh.
All five were on the panel of the reality show ‘India’s Got Latent’, which saw Allahbadia asking a contestant a controversial question, leading to an uproar on social media followed by two FIRs – first by Assam Police and then by Maharashtra Cyber Police.

He started uploading short comic videos in December 2014. In 2018, he was invited to Singapore to interview the team of Avengers Infinity War, including director Joe Russo and actor Benedict Cumberbatch.
Over the years, he has won many awards, including Cosmopolitan’s Entertainer of the Year (Male), and the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award for Best Digital Influencer.
Apoorva Mukhija is a Mumbai-based social media influencer and content creator popularly known by her username ‘The Rebel Kid’ or her description ‘Kaleshi Aurat’. A computer science engineer by education, the 23-year-old is known for her mini vlogs, rant videos and skits.
She gained recognition during the Covid-19 pandemic when she started sharing her unfiltered commentary on everyday life on Instagram. Today, she has over 2.7 million followers on Instagram and half a million on YouTube. In 2023, she made her acting debut with the web series ‘Who’s Your Gynac’ and more recently, she was seen in the Terribly Tiny Tales series, ‘Baat Pakki’.
Last year, she ranked at number 8 in Forbes’ Top 100 Digital Stars list and also walked the ramp for designer Tarun Tahiliani.
Alongside the whole panel of India’s Got Latent which is under scrutiny, Mukhija also faced criticism for her comment on vagina on Raina’s show.
