The Shivaji Park police have initiated a manhunt for two unidentified individuals who allegedly assaulted a 21-year-old law student inside his bedroom at his residence in Dadar on Saturday. The attack occurred while his parents were away at work, police said.

According to police, the assault took place around 12.30 pm when the victim, S Singh, was alone in his bedroom. The victim stated that the attackers barged into the house and began assaulting him. One of the assailants, who was wearing an iron bracelet, struck him on the head, while the other grabbed his neck and slammed his head against a wall, causing injuries to his head and forehead.

“We are speaking with the victim’s family, particularly his sisters, and reviewing nearby CCTV footage to identify the suspects,”said inspector Dattatray Sanap of the Shivaji Park police station.

Singh, who resides with his parents, two sisters, and aunt at Bhatiya Bhavan on DS Babrekar Marg, Dadar, was reportedly sleeping when the attackers entered. His two elder sisters were at a neighbour’s house during the incident, police said. After the assault, Singh sought medical treatment at Sion Hospital for his injuries.
The victim, in his FIR, described the suspects as being in their mid-twenties. Police have registered a case under sections 115, 118(1), 333, and 3(5) of the BNS Act and an investigation is on.
