No letters yet,voters confused

With under 48 hours left for the Mumbai University senate elections, many registered voters complained that they had not yet received the letter indicating their voting centres.

With under 48 hours left for the Mumbai University senate elections on Sunday, many registered voters complained that they had not yet received the letter indicating their voting centres. The 12-page letter is sent to all registered voters informing them about the election process, details of candidates contesting the election and also the centre where the voter is supposed to go and cast his vote.

Sriniwas Vasalwar,a registered voter and a resident of Bhiwandi, said “I have not received the letter, though my registration was confirmed and my name appeared in the voters list. I tried checking online, but the server is too slow.”

I have received the letter, but it is incomplete letter. I have no clue where to go. While registration I had opted for a centre in Kalyan, but I know people who had opted for Worli but have got a centre in Matunga,” Sushant Damodare,a resident of Titwala.

When approached varsity officials they had posted the letters 15 days ago. “In case some voters have not received the letters, they can check their names on the university website. If they still face difficulties, they are free to call us for assistance,” said Dinesh Kamble,Deputy Registrar and assistant returning officer of University of Mumbai.
