A government event in Nagpur attended by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday saw two senior women officers of the postal department arguing on stage, reportedly over the right to sit on the dais.

One of the officers, who had been serving as postmaster general (Nagpur region), was recently transferred to Karnataka. Following her transfer, the postmaster general of Navi Mumbai was given additional charge of the Nagpur division.

However, the former Nagpur officer challenged her transfer in court and obtained a stay order, leading to confusion over who officially holds charge of the region. The dispute between the two had been simmering for weeks and played out publicly during the event.

Video footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media.

The clip shows both officers seated on the same sofa on stage when an argument breaks out. The officer who had contested her transfer is purportedly seen jostling with her colleague, pushing the other’s hand, causing water to spill, and even pinching her arm. The incident unfolded in full public view, with Gadkari present on stage.
