MP Rahul Shewale and Maharashtra Industries Minister Uday Samant, the leaders in the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Friday said the two-day meeting of the Opposition bloc of Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) in Mumbai has had little effect on the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Moreover, they exuded confidence that NDA will undoubtedly win over 375 seats in the Lok Sabha elections next year, no matter how hard the new Opposition alliance may try.

“The ‘Mahayuti’ (grand alliance) will win all the 48 Lok Sabha seats and also have over 215 MLAs in Maharashtra,” the Sena leaders told reporters during a joint press conference at Balasaheb Bhavan in Mumbai.

MP Shewale described I.N.D.I.A. front as a gang of scammers from across the country that have come together under one roof in Mumbai for tourism.

“Those who are doing big scams in the country have gathered here. Around 40 thieves from 26 parties who committed scams worth several lakhs of crores, like the fodder scam, the 2G spectrum scam, the Delhi liquor scam, the Commonwealth scam, and Covid centre scam have come together in Mumbai,” Shewale added.

Taking a jibe a Uddhav Thackeray, the son of Sena founder Bal Thackeray, minister Samant said, “the Hindu Hriday Samrat’s son is going around doing ‘yes sir, yes sir,’ to praise these leaders who criticised our Balasaheb. The faces of those who betrayed Balasaheb’s ideals are now out before the public in the I.N.D.I.A. meeting”.

Samant that the division and distance between the allies are reflected in the dots that separate each letter of the I.N.D.I.A. “They said they have many PM candidates; we challenge them to finalise that name,” said Samant, adding that those having such differing views regarding PM candidature will have a tough time facing a strong personality like Prime Minister Modi.

MP Shewale repeated Shiv Sena’s challenge to the Uddhav’s Sena faction. “Uddhav should take the leaders who came to Mumbai to the memorial site of Balasaheb and make them pay homage,” he said.

Samant crticised the Opposition and likened them to frogs making sounds in the rainy season. “As the elections approach, some leaders start shouting that the ‘central government is plotting to usurp Mumbai from Maharashtra’. Only these people think that there is no such plan. We live in Maharashtra, and we also love Mumbai. We doubt whether those talking about destroying Mumbai have the same intention,” he lashed out.

Shewale, while taking a dig at I.N.D.I.A. meeting, urged former minister and Uddhav’s son Aaditya Thackeray to take the Opposition party leaders to the zoo, show them the penguins and send them back.

“Many tourists visit Mumbai and enjoy tourism throughout the year. Even now, leaders from all over the country have come for tourism. None of the leaders have the power or strength to face Prime Minister Modiji. Leaders conducted the meeting only to preserve the political future of their children,” he said.
