As per the early trends of the Maharashtra Assembly polls, the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is winning over uncle Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP) in one-on-one contests. Out of 43 seats where both sides were directly contesting each other, the Ajit Pawar-led NCP was leading in 29 seats.
In Baramati, as per the early trends, Ajit Pawar is leading over his nephew Yugendra Pawar by over 27,000 votes after six rounds. In neighbouring Indapur, Dattatraya Bharne of the NCP is leading over Harshvardhan Patil of the NCP (SP) by over 2,247 votes after four rounds. In Kolhapur’s Kagal, Hasan Mushrif is leading against his nearest contestant Samarjeet Ghatge.
Among the seats where the NCP (SP) is leading are Sindkhed Raja (Rajendra Shingne), Kinwat (Pradeep Naik), Jintur (Vijay Bhamble), Gangapur (Satish Chavan), Mumbra-Kalwa (Jitendra Awhad), Anushaktinagar (Fahad Ahmad), Ambegaon (Devdatta Nikam), Akole (Amit Bhangre), Mahalgaon (Mohan Jagtap), Paranda (Rahul Mote), Karmala (Narayan Patil), Mohol (Raju Khare), Chiplun (Prashant Yadav), Islampur (Jayant Patil) and Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahankal (Rohit Patil).
