Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday alleged that a contract to supply meals to students in government hostels and boarding schools under Maharashtra government’s Social Justice department has been given to Brisk India Private Limited, a company which was accused by the BJP of money laundering during the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) regime.
“Birsk India is a company belonging to the son-in-law of Hasan Mushrif. The BJP during the MVA period had accused that this company was involved in money laundering and given the responsibility to run Appasaheb Nalavade Sugar mill without any experience,” said NCP MLA Rohit Pawar.
Mushrif is the Medical Education Minister in the present government and one of the senior NCP leaders who joined hands with the BJP by snapping ties with NCP president Sharad Pawar.
Pawar pointed out that the BJP leaders had held a number of press conferences and even had undertaken a tour to Kolhapur against this company.
“Now the same company has been given the contract to supply meals to students under social justice department. Will the B JP apologise now for levelling corruption allegations for the sake of politics?” asked Pawar.
As per the government resolution issued on November 6, Brisk India Pvt Ltd is part of joint venture with Kailas Food and Kirana General Stores to supply the meal at Latur, Amaravati and Nagpur.
Another company, Krystal Gaurment Private Limited, which has formed joint venture with Krystal Integrated Services Private Limited has been appointed to supply meals in Mumbai and Pune.
In Nasik, Shri Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj SSSS Limited, Nasik has formed a joint venture with BVG India Limited.
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, DM Enterprises is in joint venture with E-governance solution private limited.
Replying to the allegations, Mushrif claimed that neither he nor his family member has any relation whatsoever with Brisk India.
“If any relation is proven, I will retire from the politics,” he said.
