This registration is mandatory for students seeking admission to the first year of both three-year as well as four-year UG degree courses for the academic year 2025-26.
As per information shared by Mumbai University, students must register online through the official portal https://mu.ac.in/admission before applying to individual colleges.
The sale of application forms and online pre-admission registration will begin on May 8 and continue until May 23 (1:00 PM). Students will be able to submit their online admission forms within the same window. And the first merit list will be declared on May 27 at 11:00 AM.
There are over 3 lakh seats up for grabs in Mumbai University’s affiliated and autonomous colleges for various UG courses. Mumbai University’s Director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation (BOEE), Dr. Pooja Raundale, in a circular issued regarding the schedule has urged all affiliated and autonomous colleges to strictly follow the prescribed admission schedule. “All colleges, including autonomous colleges, should strictly follow the admission schedule. The colleges must admit students as per sanctioned intake only, and by following the prevailing norms of reservation and eligibility of the programs,” stated Raundale while highlighting that admission schedule of Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) which now under the ambit of All India Council for Technical education (AICTE) shall be declared after the result of entrance examination conducted by the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell.
An official from Mumbai University highlighted that it is important for students to note that this pre-admission online registration by varsity is mandatory but independent from individual college applications. “Students have to apply for this online pre-registration. But for admission to the course of their choice, they have to apply to individual colleges too. This is highlighted to avoid any confusion among students,” said the official.
Meanwhile, Mumbai University on Tuesday declared that all examinations scheduled to be held on Wednesday May 7 will continue as per the schedule. The circular was issued in order to avoid any confusion among colleges and candidates owing to a civil mock drill scheduled for the same day.
