Mumbai’s New Burger King

The menu isn’t extensive but offers adequate variety. The Big Burg has two layers of beef with cheese,tomatoes and caramalised onions,Prawn Cracker is laid on a bed of lettuce and topped with a tangy jalapeno mayo and the Birdy Num Num features a crispy patty filled with cheddar cheese. The Burg,with its single beef patty,is an apt choice for those who have been craving a good,old-fashioned burger. The meat is cooked right through and is tender to chew. The Teriyaki Chicken,with slices of chicken on a thin bed of lettuce and mayo,is for those who want a light meal. One complaint though is that the teriyaki sauce is completely lost.

The menu also has interesting vegetarian options and for once they go beyond paneer. The Tofu Crunch,fried in a tempura style,and the Mac N Cheese Bomb make for interesting options.

A good burger always calls for a thick glass of milkshake. The regular vanillas and strawberries are absent from the menu. Instead,one could try Chocolate with Zesty Orange,Vanilla and Lavender with Marshmallows or Cola and Vanilla Whizz. They also have a Peanut Butter and Jelly milkshake,which,with its rich texture,is certainly the pick of the lot.

The comfort food it serves makes Burgs a perfect casual eatery to visit at any time of the day. But it would really add a kick to Bandra’s nightlife if it were to stay open until the clubs shut around 1.30 am. They would then be able to cater to those looking to gorge on a decent bite before ending their evening.
