Industrialist Mukesh Ambani received two more email threats, threatening to eliminate him if he fails to pay Rs 400 crore money. The email sender is suspected to be the same person who previously sent three threat emails on different occasions. The sender has now sent emails on October 31st and November 1st. The accused has not changed the ransom amount of Rs 400 crore, mentioned in the previous email, said a police source.
The Gamdevi police and Mumbai Crime branch officials are investigating the matter.
Ambani received threat emails on the company’s email IDs — first on Friday evening and the next one on Saturday, last week.
The first email, allegedly sent by one Shadab Khan, reads, “If you (Ambani) do not give us Rs 20 crore, we will kill you, we have the best shooters in India.”
The investigation agencies launched a probe to nab the accused, and in the meantime, Ambani on Saturday filed the second complainant, stating that he had received another threat email.
In the second email, the sender alleged that as the complainant had failed to act upon the first email, they wanted Rs 200 crore. “If the demands are not fulfilled, a death warrant will be issued (to Ambani),” reads the second email, said police.
Later, in an email on Monday the sender increased the ransom amount to Rs 400 crore, the police added.
Based on a complaint filed by Ambani, an FIR was registered against the accused on charges of extortion and criminal intimidation at the Gamdevi police station.
Police suspect that the emails were sent from another country.
