Pune City Police booked workers of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for allegedly causing a ruckus during an official meeting of the Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Wednesday evening.
A Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) staffer Amol Pawar lodged a first information report (FIR) at Shivajinagar police station.
The FIR stated that MNS activists Kishor Shinde, Prashant Mate, Narendra Tamboli, Avinash Jadhav, Mahesh Lad and about 35 others allegedly gathered illegally and barged into the meeting hall of PMC commissioner Naval Kishor Ram when he was holding an official meeting around 4.50 pm on Wednesday.
The FIR alleged that MNS workers manhandled the security guards and threatened the PMC Commissioner and Additional Commissioner of not allowing them to stay in Maharashtra. MNS activists also allegedly shouted slogans against the PMC Commissioner.
Police have booked the MNS workers on charges of causing disturbance in government work under sections 132, 189 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Assistant police inspector Sanjay Pandhare was investigating the case.
