MMRDA to spend Rs 128 cr on two FOBs

The MMRDA last week gave approval for awarding tenders for the construction of two foot over bridges (FOBs) that will facilitate commuters using Metro line 7 and Monorail to reach the nearest railway stations.

The first FOB will connect Metro 7’s Goregaon East station with the Ram Mandir railway station. This proposed FOB is 635-m long and will be built at a cost of Rs 57.93 crore. The second FOB, which is 335-m long, will connect Monorail’s Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk station with Metro and railway stations at Mahalaxmi. It will be built at a cost of Rs 70.05 crore. According to MMRDA, the FOBs will help to increase the ridership in Metro and Monorail.
