Minor rape: Mahim cops form teams to trace accused

The Shahu Nagar police have formed teams to nab the man wanted for the rape of a six-year-old girl.

On Monday evening,the victim was found in a semi-conscious state near the tracks leading to the Mahim railway station. It was later learnt that the girl had been raped by her neighbour.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Central Region) Vineet Agarwal said,“Efforts are on to trace the accused,” said Agarwal.

The medical reports of the victim have confirmed rape and the police are recording the statements of victim’s neighbours. The police have also asked for mobile phone records of the accused to trace his location,said an officer who is part of the investigating team.

On Monday evening,the victim did not return home with her younger sister after attending a religious meeting in the vicinity. The girl was found around 8.15 pm near the railway tracks.
