A 28-year-old man was arrested from Pedder Road Friday afternoon for allegedly stalking a German woman. The woman, who noticed the man following her for a considerable distance, called her husband who alerted the police.

The man was nabbed by the police and identified as Sajid Khan (28), a driver, who lives in Pedder Road area. Khan was remanded in police custody Saturday.

According to the police, the complainant, aged 37, had left her home in Carmichael Road to take her young daughter to yoga class in Pedder Road area.

‘’The complainant and her daughter were travelling on a scooter. Throughout the journey, a few minutes since she left home, the complainant had noticed that a man on a motorbike was following her,’’ said sub- inspector Pravin Mendhapure of the Gamdevi police station.

He added that when the complainant reached Pedder Road at 3 pm to drop her daughter, she noticed Khan had also come to a stop some distance behind her.
‘’She called her husband who then alerted the police. The police nabbed the man from the spot,” said Mendhapure.

It was for the last three months that the woman had been noticing she was being followed by an unidentified man, DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni told PTI.
