To expedite the resolution of land disputes, the Maharashtra Government’s revenue department has introduced measures aimed at simplifying the process. As part of the process, the government will appoint licensed private surveyors to resolve measurement cases within a 30-day timeline, according to a notification issued on Saturday.

Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said, “The department has announced a streamlined approach to expedite critical land-related processes, including land partitioning, boundary demarcation, non-agricultural conversion, gunthewari regularization, joint land acquisition surveys, forest rights claim measurements, city and village site surveys, demarcation, and measurements vital for securing property rights.”

The minister said the decision will greatly benefit the public by significantly reducing delays that have long hindered landowners, developers, and communities.

He said that the department is revolutionizing land administration by appointing licensed private surveyors to resolve measurement cases within the stipulated timeline.

This reform enhances efficiency, fosters transparency, supports economic development, and strengthens property rights, Bawankule said.

Along with this, it would ensure and surveys will unlock opportunities for infrastructure growth, urban planning, and equitable access to land resources, marking a pivotal step toward modernizing land governance.
