Despite efforts from the top leadership of both alliances to convince rebel candidates to withdraw, the ruling Mahayuti and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, at many constituencies have rebels who have stuck to the decision of fighting the elections and did not withdraw the nominations on the last day of withdrawal.
While at some seats, rebels in the fray are set to jeopardise chances of the official alliance candidates, at other seats, friendly fights are inevitable. A look at the 10 most interesting fights in Maharashtra:
Sangola
Shahajibapu Patil (SS) vs Dipakbaba Salunkhe (SS-UBT) Vs Babasaheb Deshmukh (PWP)
Despite the leaders of MVA announcing no friendly fights, Sangola in Solapur district will witness a triangular battle between SS-UBT and PWP as both sides have claimed stake on the said seat. Ruling Shiv Sena’s current MLA Shahajibapu Patil will be defending his seat against the two candidates from the MVA.
