The Co-Guardian Minister for Mumbai suburbs, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and BJP president and MLA Amit Satam will review the administrative preparations for Chhath Puja festivities in a meeting scheduled at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Headquarters on Friday.
Lodha and Satam will hold discussions with BMC commissioner Bhushan Gagrani and Mumbai Police commissioner Deven Bharti regarding facilities for devotees, law and order arrangements, traffic management, and cleanliness measures.
Chhath Puja will be celebrated across the country from October 26 to October 29.
Urging the Chhath Puja Committees across Mumbai to attend the meeting and share inputs to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations, Lodha said, “The Chhath Puja festival begins on Kartik Shukla Chaturthi and concludes on Kartik Shukla Saptami with the offering of Arghya to the rising sun. During these four days, a large number of devotees participate in various rituals and processions. Ensuring adequate facilities and maintaining law and order become a joint responsibility of both the administration and the devotees.”
