Commuters of Mumbai Metro will now be able to book a single ticket across multiple metro lines through the OneTicket app.

The app, developed by SequelString and supported by Mumbai Metro One, has come up with a unified digital solution by integrating with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).

Piloted on Metro-3 in June 2025, the enhanced version of the OneTicket app generates tickets with QR codes that can be scanned at metro gates, eliminating the need for multiple transactions.

With Mumbai Metro currently spanning 70 km and set to expand to 340 km in the coming years, passengers have often faced the inconvenience of booking separate tickets for different lines operated by multiple agencies.

The app, available on Android as OneTicket and on iOS as OneTicketIndia, is designed for simplicity.

Commuters can sign up with a mobile number and OTP, select source and destination stations—automatically detecting the nearest station—choose the number of tickets, complete payment via UPI, debit, or credit cards, and receive a QR ticket instantly. The app also provides station and route information, making it useful for daily commuters as well as first-time riders.

“This is a landmark moment not just for technology, but for citizens,” said Ravish Sahay, CEO of SequelString AI, highlighting the convergence of AI, mobility, and digital commerce in urban transit.

Nitin Nair, Senior Executive Director at ONDC, said the integration allows commuters to plan end-to-end journeys in one application. “For example, a trip from Dahisar to BKC can now be booked in a single transaction, offering a hassle-free experience,” he said.

Authorities expect the OneTicket app to significantly simplify commuting for Mumbaikars as the Metro network expands, setting a benchmark for unified digital ticketing in urban transport.
